Privacy Policy
Player Analytics collects gameplay data from Rust servers that install our plugin, so those servers' owners can understand and moderate their communities. This policy covers players on those servers and the owners and team members who use our website. Last updated: October 5, 2026.
Player Analytics (playeranalytics.gg) is operated by an individual based in the United States ("we", "us"). Contact: yakidzoba@gmail.com.
Who decides what is collected
Each server owner chooses to install our plugin on their server. For player data, the server owner decides to collect it and we process it on their behalf. Server owners are responsible for telling their players, and we provide them a notice to post.
What we collect about players
When you play on a server that uses Player Analytics, the plugin sends us:
- Identity: your Steam ID and in-game name.
- Connection data: your IP address, and an approximate location (country, region, city) derived from it. Location lookup uses a database stored on our own server, so your IP is not sent to a third party for this.
- Sessions: when you connect and disconnect, and how long you play.
- Gameplay events: kills and deaths, shots and hits, gathering, looting, crafting, building, keycard use, revives, and the in-game location (map grid and coordinates) where these happen.
- Messages and commands: chat messages in any channel (global, team, clan, local, and private messages where the server supports them), and commands you run.
- Moderation records: reports you make or receive, bans, and notes server staff write about players.
- Team and clan membership, and the skins on items you use.
- Public Steam ban status: we look up your Steam ID with Valve's public Steam Web API to show whether your account has VAC, game, or community bans.
What we collect about server owners and team members
- Your Steam ID (from Steam login) and your Discord ID and username (from Discord login).
- The organizations and servers you belong to, and your role.
- For servers you register: server name, IP address, port, hostname, description, tags, and mod framework.
- Payment details, once paid plans launch, are handled by our payment provider. We do not receive or store card numbers.
Why we use it
- To show server owners and their authorized team members statistics, logs, and moderation tools for their own servers.
- To keep the service running, secure, and to fix problems.
- To produce aggregated, anonymous totals across all servers (for example, total players or resources gathered). These never identify an individual player or server.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
For players in the EU and UK, the legal basis is the legitimate interests of server owners in running, moderating, and protecting their communities, and our legitimate interest in providing the service. For owners and team members, it is performing our agreement with you.
Who can see it
- The server's owner and the team members they authorize. Owners control which pages each team member can open.
- Service providers that host or support the service: Tiger Data (database hosting), Physgun (application server hosting, Chicago, US), Valve (Steam login and ban lookups), Discord (login), and PayNow (payments, once paid plans launch). They process data only to provide their services to us.
- Authorities, if required by law.
Data from one server is never shown to another server's owner.
Where it is stored
Data is stored and processed in the United States. If you are outside the US, your data is transferred there.
How long we keep it
We keep player data for as long as the service operates, so server owners can see long-term history. Detailed high-volume events (such as individual shots and resource hits) are condensed into daily summaries after about 90 days. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or stop the processing of your data. Email yakidzoba@gmail.com from any address, include your Steam ID, and say what you want. We may ask you to prove you own that Steam account, for example by temporarily adding a code to your Steam profile. We respond within 30 days.
Deleting your data removes it from every server that uses Player Analytics. A server owner may still keep their own separate records, such as their own ban lists, outside our service. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Server API keys are stored only as hashes. Website access requires Steam and Discord login, and owners control their team's permissions. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected server owners of any breach that affects their data.
Children
Rust is rated for mature audiences, and Player Analytics is not directed at children under 16. If you believe we hold data about a child, email us and we will delete it.
Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and complete Steam and Discord login. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell server owners by email or on the dashboard.
